DENVER (KDVR) – The Denver Police Department has released body camera footage after an officer-involved shooting that happened on a campus of a local high school.
The incident occurred just after 10:30 p.m. on June 23 at Kepner-Beacon Middle School, 911 S Hazel Court.
Police responded to a call about possible trespassing on the campus.
Two police officers said they approached two suspects, a 46-year-old man and a woman. Both had active warrants for parole violations.
Denver Police say, at one point, the man flashed a gun, ran and fired 8 rounds at officers. Denver Police said officers fired back 38 rounds, killing the 46-year-old man.
Police are still looking for the woman involved, and an independent investigation into the incident is underway.
