Bloomberg News journalist Sonali Basak is joining iCapital as its chief investment strategist.
She will start on Sept. 2.
Basak has been the primary Wall Street correspondent for Bloomberg Television, covering the largest financial firms globally. Her industry-wide newsletter can be found on LinkedIn under her profile and she frequently writes for Bloomberg News and Bloomberg Businessweek.
Basak has been at Bloomberg since January 2014, covering the insurance industry, institutional investing, asset managers and independent investment banks. She also previously worked with the M&A, emerging markets, entertainment, healthcare and education desks.
Basak is a former startup and technology reporter who wrote for publications such as MarketWatch, Chicago Tribune’s Blue Sky Initiative, Kellogg School of Management, United Press International, McClatchy, Techonomy, Techli and Tech Cocktail.
She graduated from Bucknell University, Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism for her journalism master’s and has her MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
