HOUGHTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – This week’s hike is on the Houghton Forest Trails, part of Houghton University in Allegany County.
The university maintains more than four miles of trails through the Houghton Woods. One of the highlights is an overlook that offers a pretty view south toward the Allegheny Mountains. There’s a wooden swing where you can sit and enjoy that view while enjoying a snack or lunch.
- Address: 7481 Centerville Rd, Houghton, NY 14744
- Distance from Buffalo: 59 miles
- Parking: Free at the trailhead
- Difficulty: Medium according to the WNY Hiking Challenge. This is mainly because of distance.
