A professor in grad school once told me that 1990’s “Tremors” is a perfectly constructed piece of filmmaking. Not a second of the Kevin Bacon-fronted monster flick is wasted, he insisted, mumbling something about it having an impeccably plotted three-act structure. I don’t know about all of that, but it’s a great time. Equal parts frightening and goofy, I plan to reconsider the film’s possible excellence when it shows at the Central Arkansas Library System’s Ron Robinson Theater (100 River Market Ave.) this month alongside 20 (!) other movies.
Other July highlights include “Dirty Dancing,” “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “O Brother, Where Art Thou?,” “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” and “Independence Day,” which screens the day after the Fourth of July.
