SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – On Jan. 29, 2026, at 1:16 a.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 44 near the exit for U.S. Highway 65. Mohammed Soghar, 36, of Kansas City, Kansas, was driving a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer westbound on I-44 when he hit a pedestrian, Wesley Osborne, 48, of Springfield, who was on the highway in the westbound lane.
