NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man is dead following a crash that happened in New Orleans East on Friday night, Aug. 8. According to the New Orleans Police Department, around 10:14 p.m., one vehicle, driven by the victim, was heading east in the 12000 block of Chef Mentuer Highway at a high rate of speed when he hit the back of another vehicle. ALTON, Ill. — Federal investigators are looking into the helicopter crash near Alton, Illinois, Thursday that killed two men. The National Transportation Safety Board says that the aircraft struck power lines and crashed onto a barge in the Mississippi River, sparking a fire.
