Two off-duty Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue firefighters on Sunday saved a man from a car fire in Weston. According to officials, the incident happened on southbound Interstate 75, just north of Royal Palm Boulevard. Officials said the vehicle left the roadway and struck a light pole, which ignited a small fire. The two off-duty lieutenants were traveling nearby when it happened and were able to control the fire using portable fire extinguishers. They then helped the man out of the car.
