Written by Miami Today on January 21, 2026 Advertisement County commissioners are to vote this week on creating an advisory board to pinpoint concerns about Miami International Airport’s operations and propose solutions to enhance the airport and its sometimes-disparaged reputation. The proposal from commission Chairman Anthony Rodriguez would establish a seven-member board, to which he would appoint two members. The legislation cites only positives: three consecutive years of record air passenger gains, an ongoing airport modernization, a new Concourse K that is to add six passenger gates, a vast concession revamp now in process, a 2,240-space garage that opened last…

The term “moonbat” is a pejorative political epithet originating in the 19th century and used widely in the US. It is normally used to insult those on the political left, but I think it is eminently suitable to describe Tom Cotton, the Republican US Senator for the state of Arkansas. Cotton, 47, was incandescent with rage on hearing that the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israel’s genocidal Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence minister Yoav Gallant. Yes, I’m using the g-word and I’m buoyed to see that Wikipedia is now referring to the “Gaza Genocide”…

WASHINGTON — The killing of a second U.S. citizen by federal agents in Minneapolis is sharply complicating efforts to avert another government shutdown in Washington as Democrats — and some Republicans — view the episode as a tipping point in the debate over the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies.Senate Democrats have pledged to block funding for the Department of Homeland Security unless changes are made to rein in the federal agency’s operations following the killing of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care unit nurse. The Democratic defections now threaten to derail passage of a broad spending package that also includes funding for the…

Dusan Vlahovic is keen on a move to the Premier League when his contract at Juventus expires in the summer. The Serbian striker’s deal is due to run out at the end of the campaign and there has been no agreement on an extension. Though Vlahovic has been an important performer for Juventus in recent season, scoring 64 goals in 162 games, the Italian side are keen to offload his club-high £350,000-a-week wages. Juventus have already began the search for a replacement. There has been interest in Fenerbahce forward Youssef En-Nesyri and Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta this month. Clubs…

Atlantica Shipping has marked its return to the dry bulk sector with the delivery of a kamsarmax bulker, ending a brief period as an offshore-only outfit. The Oslo-based company has taken delivery of the 2011-built kamsarmax Atlantica Star, which recently joined the fleet. The vessel will be placed under technical management with Greek bulker specialist AM Nomikos. Atlantica did not disclose the seller, but market sources have identified the vessel as the Jag Aarati, a 80,300 dwt kamsarmax that Indian owner Great Eastern Shipping agreed to sell in December. Brokers estimate the deal was done at between $14m and $15m.…
