The first edition of the Lied the Way Festival is about to be held from July 8 to 13 at Palazzo Corsini al Prato in Florence.

Organized by the non-profit association Lied the Way in collaboration with the Fondazione Mascarade Opera, the event is entirely dedicated to supporting chamber music—lied, specifically—in a public context and offering a platform for emerging women performers.

On July 8 at 7pm, Wild Women of Song sees artistic director Elenora Pertz and mezzo-soprano Hagar Sharvit celebrating feminine strength, intuition and freedom through a conscious and provocative musical journey.
On July 12, at 7pm, Joanna Kacperek and Clara Barbier Serrano, both hailing from prestigious international competitions (Wigmore Hall, Hugo Wolf, Lyon Chamber Music), will perform Tarot Songs, an upbeat recital in which the songs are paired and ordered using Tarot of Marseilles cards with audience participation.
The final concert for workshop participants will take place at 6pm on July 13 featuring the 12 duos selected during the workshop and their final performance programs. At the end of each concert, there will be a social moment to meet the artists and members of the Lied the Way community.
The event is made possible thanks to contributions from the Athenaeum Dietrich Götze Stiftung für Kultur und Wissenschaft, the Richard Stury Stiftungen and a generous donation from a participant in previous editions.
Full price tickets cost 15 euro; concessions (students and over 60) 10 euro.
Tickets can be purchased on site. To reserve a spot, email info@liedtheway.com.
