Journalist Arielle Robinson has arrived in Arkansas by way of Louisiana, ready to dig in on equity issues including homelessness, social justice and policing.
“My goals for my new job are to make meaningful connections with and explore the stories of Little Rock’s historically marginalized communities, as well as look at underreported issues that have not been studied by the traditional outlets here in Arkansas,” Robinson said.
One of 107 new Report for America corps members taking their places in newsrooms across the country, Robinson comes to the Arkansas Times from Verite News in New Orleans, where she covered city government, police accountability and reproductive health.
Report for America is a national program that provides funding, training and other support to place emerging journalists in local newsrooms to report on under-covered topics and communities. Robinson is the Arkansas Times’ second Report for America star. We nabbed agriculture and environment reporter Phillip Powell through the program in 2024, and it’s working out great!
A graduate of Kennesaw State University who’s lived in Georgia, New Hampshire and Louisiana, Robinson now turns her attention to the racial and socioeconomic inequities plaguing Arkansas.
