CHICAGO (WGN) — Authorities say a death investigation is underway after a man was killed in a stabbing on the city’s Far South Side early Tuesday morning.
Chicago police say the deadly stabbing unfolded just after 2:30 a.m., in the 900 block of West 78th Street, in Auburn Gresham.
Officers said they were first called to the scene for a well-being check, but when they arrived, they found the victim, an adult male, unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.
The victim, whose age remains unclear, was then taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have spoken with a person of interest, though it is unclear how they are involved.
It is unclear what led to the stabbing and authorities have not identified the victim killed.
