Amazónico | Miami
A famous jungle-themed restaurant with outposts in Dubai, London, Madrid and Monte Carlo will open its first U.S. outpost in Miami’s Brickell.
Amazónico leased about 40,000 square feet on three floors at the 800 Brickell office tower at 800 Brickell Avenue, according to Babak Ebrahimzadeh of Gatsby Enterprises, which owns the building. The space is on the ground floor and first two levels of the 15-story building.
The lease includes space for Amazónico’s nightclub Selva, which will occupy the top level Amazónico leased.
The venues are expected to open late next month.
The restaurant can seat about 700 guests at a time and host at least 1,300 guests per night, Ebrahimzadeh.
Husband-and-wife Sandro Silva and Marta Seco founded Amazónico in 2016, opening the first restaurant in Madrid. Silva and Seco lead fine dining firm Paraguas Group, a brand of London-based hospitality group D.ream International.
New York-based Gatsby Enterprises, led by Ebrahimzadeh and Nader Ohebshalom, paid $125.5 million for 800 Brickell and an adjacent nine-story garage in 2019.
DUS Padel | West Palm Beach
A padel club will open in West Palm Beach.
DUS Padel will open its first outpost in a 26,500-square-foot space at 2031 Okeechobee Boulevard next year, according to a news release from the tenant’s broker. The space will include indoor courts, cold plunges, saunas and a café.
John Winter, Jason Warren and Alec Solomon of Stream Realty Partners represented DUS Padel. Lindsey Morriss Meyers of Southeast Retail Advisors represents the landlord.
Philippe Urreiztieta, a Palm Beach County native, founded DUS Padel late last year, his LinkedIn shows.
DUS will take the place of an American Freight, which is closing its stores nationwide after its parent company filed for bankruptcy in November. The space is within a shopping center owned by Okee Realty Associates, led by members of the Vogel family, records show.
Pala Mediterranean Kitchen, more | North Miami Beach
A kosher Mediterranean restaurant is among the latest to prelease at the Aura North Miami Beach mixed-use project that’s under construction.
Pala Mediterranean Kitchen, known for its Moroccan and Israeli dishes, will open a 1,400-square-foot restaurant with indoor space and an outdoor terrace at 16955-17071 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach, according to a news release from Aura co-developer Macken Companies. Pala is expanding from its original outpost at 3317 Sheridan Street in Hollywood.
Elsewhere at Aura, The Missing Peace, an early childhood occupational therapy center, and Sunrisas Dental Miami preleased space as well. The square footage they leased wasn’t immediately provided.
The deals come after Florentin Bakery signed up for 2,800 square feet, and Mimi Yoga leased 2,700 square feet. Mimi yoga offers infrared heater yoga and mat Pilates.
Hollywood-based Macken and Dallas-based Trinsic Residential Group are developing the eight-story Aura with 373 luxury apartments and 17,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. It also will have a 9,000-square-foot exterior covered retail terrace.
Construction completion of Aura is expected in the second quarter of next year, according to the release.
Alan Macken is CEO of Macken, and Brian Tusa is CEO of Trinsic.
Wells Fargo | Fort Lauderdale
Wells Fargo plans a new outpost in Fort Lauderdale.
The bank signed a 10-year lease for 4,000 square feet at 1207 Southeast 17th Street, according to a news release from the landlord’s brokers. The outpost will replace the existing Wells Fargo branch at 1710 South Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
Jake Michels and Joseph P. Byrnes of Berger Commercial Realty/Corfac International represented the landlord. Mike Wilson and Russell Bornstein of Colliers represented the tenant.
Wells Fargo is expected to open its new branch in the second quarter of next year,
Bornstein said.
W D Cordova, an entity led by John Thompson Loos III and Amy Mergler, owns the building, records show. The property, previously home to a PDQ restaurant, is on a 1-acre lot and includes a drive-thru.
Minto Communities USA | Coconut Creek
Homebuilder Minto Communities USA moved its headquarters but it’s staying in Coconut Creek.
Minto leased 15,500 square feet at 4443 Lyons Road within the Promenade at Coconut Creek mixed-use center, according to the tenant’s news release. About 75 employees will work at the office.
Minto’s new headquarters is one-fifth larger than its former space at 4400 West Sample Road, where the firm was based for more than 20 years.
Minto is led by CEO Michael Waters and President William Bullock.
Boston-based AEW Capital Management owns the Promenade at Coconut Creek.
