5-year-old boy shot in Kenwood apartment

A 5-year-old boy was shot and wounded Sunday afternoon inside a Kenwood apartment.

The boy was shot in the head about 1:15 p.m., while inside the home in the 4400 block of South Greenwood Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

A firearm was recovered at the scene, police said. Officials did not release any other details Sunday about the shooting.

No one was in custody.
