MAYFIELD, Ky. – An arrest has been made in the Mayfield High School football game shooting incident.
The Mayfield Police Department says a 14-year-old male suspect from Fulton has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault, following a shooting during the fourth quarter of the Mayfield High School Football game.
According to police, the suspect shot Jordan Riley, 18, of Farmington.
Riley sustained a serious gunshot wound to his arm and upper torso. He was airlifted to an out-of-state hospital for treatment.
Riley is currently in stable condition.
MPD says the shooting happened during a physical altercation between Riley and another juvenile at a parking lot near the game. The suspect allegedly fired the gunshot that struck Riley.
The juvenile suspect has been charged and is being held at a juvenile detention center.
The investigation is ongoing.
