CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Over 3,000 San Diego Gas & Electric customers were reported to be without power in the South Bay on Sunday morning, according to the utility company’s outage map.
The incident began around 11:50 p.m. Saturday night in Chula Vista. SDG&E officials noted online that the outage was caused by a vehicle that came into contact with an electric system. Crews were reported to be on scene making repairs, though the exact location was not provided.
As of 9 a.m., 3,171 customers remained without power in the South Bay. The estimated restoration time for the Chula Vista area was slated for 11 a.m. on Sunday.
