In an interview with TV Insider, Mercedes Moné was asked for her thoughts on WWE attempting to “counter-program” with shows against AEW pay-per-view events in recent months, most notably coming up against All In Texas in July.
The TBS Champion stated she does not watch (or care about) WWE, where she previously competed as Sasha Banks, adding:
I’m “Eight Belts Moné.” I’m a champion of so many different companies. So, the more the merrier. If they want to put on wrestling shows while we have wrestling shows, I’m always going to be better. I’m always better. That’s why I call myself “The CEO.” They can keep on doing whatever they want to do, but AEW is taking over. If you want to watch the best, good wrestling, watch AEW.
Next month’s AEW All Out pay-per-view goes head to head with the recently-announced WWE Wrestlepalooza, which kicks off that company’s partnership with ESPN when it airs on the new direct-to-consumer service in the United States on September 20.
Moné is set to defend her TBS Championship in a 4-Way Match at Forbidden Door, emanating from The O2 in London, England on Sunday, August 24.
