Police are asking New Yorkers for help identifying skeletal remains found along the Jackie Robinson Parkway in Brooklyn’s Cypress Hills area earlier this month.
Department of Transportation workers found the human remains off a grassy area near the Jackie Robinson Parkway westbound Exit 1 on Aug. 6, according to the NYPD.
Police described the victim as female, possibly Black or Hispanic and approximately 20 to 30 years of age. They said the person was between 4 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 2 inches tall; had dark brown curly hair with bleached ends; and had a rose tattoo on her upper-left buttock.
Police released images of the jewelry the woman was wearing, including a piercing and a silver metal ring with a pink heart-shaped diamond.
The city medical examiner’s office said it’s still determining the cause of death.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477), or for Spanish 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips via the Crime Stoppers website or via @NYPDTips on X.
