UPDATE: This story has been updated to include information from Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr.
Little Rock police say a fatal shooting close to an early childhood school Wednesday afternoon was “an isolated incident, the school was not a target.”
A statement from Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. indicates the victim was a school district employee.
A person affiliated with the city said security camera footage of the incident shows the victim being run over by a car multiple times before being shot.
The victim died at the scene, and the shooting was believed to be a domestic incident, meaning the victim knew her attacker.
Few details were being released at the scene. Little Rock police and security officers for the Little Rock School District cordoned off Bragg Street, which runs along the western side of the early childhood education facility serving children ages 4 and under.
Here are some photos from the scene.
