HUNTSVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Ozark Science Center will unveil a new series of educational signs on Tom’s Trail for Everybody during its annual Family Day & Alumni Reunion on Sept. 6.
According to a press release, the unveiling will take place from 11 a.m. to noon. The signs were created in partnership with the Beaver Water District.
ONSC says the signs aim to highlight local ecology and natural resources.
“Tom’s Trail was built to make the outdoors available to everyone,” said Rose Brown, ONSC’s Executive Director. “These new signs will make the trail even more engaging and educational for our visitors.”
ONSC says the trail connects for forest, meadow and pond habitats, and the signs can be visited in any order.
“Part of our mission is to promote the protection of water resources through education,” said Trish Ouei, BWD’s Director of Public Affairs. “Partnering with ONSC on these trail signs helps children and families understand how the health of our forests, streams, and wildlife are connected to clean drinking water. That kind of hands-on learning inspires lasting stewardship.”
