(KRON) – Two men were arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle in police pursuit, the Hercules Police Department said on its social media.
The department was alerted to a 2010 Audi A4 in connection with a carjacking, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon in the city due to a Flock camera notification.
Hercules police officers located the Audi entering westbound Interstate 80 from John Muir Parkway, and tried to pull the sedan over. Police said the driver did not yield, which prompted a pursuit. Hercules PD said, “The Audi exited before the PVR off-ramp and drove behind the freeway sound wall, becoming stuck in a ravine.”
There were two 26-year-old men in the vehicle: one was a resident of Bay Point and he other of Pittsburg. The duo was detained.
The driver had two warrants.
“We have zero tolerance for anyone potentially coming into our city to commit crimes like carjacking, robbery, or assault with a deadly weapon,” said Hercules police.
The Audi was towed.
