A woman was arrested after police found over $100,000 worth of stolen merchandise in her Orange County home.
The suspect was identified as Ekaterina Zharkova, 40, of Lake Forest, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The suspect was being investigated for retail theft by Irvine police, along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Retail Theft Unit and private security partners.
On Aug. 13, Zharkova was arrested outside her home. While searching her residence, officers reportedly found over $100,000 worth of stolen retail goods. Many of the items were taken from Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx and Marshalls.
Photos from the bust showed a large amount of clothing, handbags, shoes, home goods, beauty products and more.
Zharkova was arrested for grand theft with a bail enhancement. The stolen merchandise was returned to its respective stores. Police noted that one retailer had to rent a U-Haul truck to transport its property back.
No further details were released as the thefts remain under investigation.
