Could wrestling fans see Torrie Wilson back in the ring?
Last month, several faces from WWE‘s past came out to Atlanta to witness Evolution 2, WWE’s second-ever all-women’s premium live event. During her appearance on the Evolution pre-show, WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson revealed that she also brought ring gear just in case WWE called her into action.
When asked about the possibility of making a formal in-ring return by SHAK Wrestling, Wilson noted that she’d be more than open to it, barring any lingering back problems.
“I feel like if you’ve ever been in wrestling, the door is never completely closed,” she said. “People ask me a lot like, ‘Do you have another match in you?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, of course.’ If something awesome came along, how would I not have that in me? It would take a lot more preparing on my end because I wouldn’t want to go back and do something like that didn’t make people go, ‘Oh, wow. She is an athlete.’ I would want to make myself proud. But at the same time, I like golfing, playing tennis, and working out, and my back issues are not going away anytime soon.”
Wilson, now 50 years old, last wrestled in the 2021 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble. That in-ring outing spanned just under four minutes as former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler quickly eliminated her from the competition. Prior to that, she competed in a battle royal at the inaugural Evolution event in 2018.
