NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Another heat advisory is in effect on Satruday from 10A-7P as heat index values climb above 105. Expect highs of 93-95 through the weekend with spots farther inland even a degree or two hotter.
Isolated storms will be possible each afternoon, especially later in the day. Strong wind gusts will be possible along with locally heavy downpours. Isolated street flooding will be possible. This trend continues into early next week where we see low to mid 90s and relatively low rain chances.
In the Atlantic Hurricane Erin is forecast to turn to the north above Puerto Rico and likely pass between Bermuda and the east coast. The tropical wave in the western Gulf will be moving inland and not pose a threat for development.
