NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a triple shooting in the Seventh Ward that left two victims dead.
According to NOPD officers, around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12 they were alerted of a shooting at the corner of Allen and N. Dorgenois streets.
Responding officers arrived to find three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two were taken to a hospital for treatment by EMS while a third victim was taken by car but was later declared dead.
By 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug13, NOPD officers report a second victim died from their injuries.
The condition of the third victim is unknow.
The Orleans Parish Coroners Office will release the identities fo the victims after autopsies are done and families are notified.
No further details are available at this time. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
