NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans will host the Hurricane Katrina 20th Anniversary Summit on Saturday, Aug. 30.
According to city officials, the summit is part of a weeks-long series of civic actions and public conversations organized in partnership with community and non-profit leaders. Officials said the summit will honor the city’s resilience, celebrate its progress and set a course for the next two decades.
The summit will bring together leaders from government, philanthropy, business and the cultural community. They will discuss climate, water and infrastructure. Then there will be sessions focused on recovery, preparedness, youth investments, healthcare, housing, culture and education.
