England’s Chris Woakes, who heroically came out to bat last Monday with a seriously injured shoulder, has said that rehab “could be a risk he’s willing to take” rather than having surgery in an attempt to be fit for the Ashes, which starts on November 21 in Perth.
Woakes is still waiting for his scan results which are widely expected to reveal that he has a dislocated shoulder as a result of a fall on day one of the Oval Test.
