Two people were seriously hurt when a driver who sped at over 100 mph fled police on I-95 in Northern Virginia and then slammed into a car on I-395, authorities say.
The driver also was hurt after Virginia State Police say he refused to stop when a trooper tried to pull him over and then crashed miles away. Photos show the mangled wreckage of the suspect’s and victims’ cars.
At about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the trooper spotted a Honda sedan driver speeding on I-95 northbound near mile marker 158 in Prince William County. The trooper tried to pull over the driver, but he didn’t stop and “a pursuit was initiated,” a statement from police said.
The driver took off at over 100 mph and got onto I-395 northbound, where he tried to exit at Edsall Road (Exit 2A). He “failed to negotiate a curve,” went airborne and crashed into a car.
Two people in the car, both Springfield residents, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital.

The Honda driver, Cameron D. Teach, 22, of Henrico, had to be extricated from his car and also was taken to a hospital. He faces charges of felony eluding and reckless driving by speed, and additional charges are pending, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear why he fled police.
The crash site was closed for hours late Wednesday and into Thursday.
