A Pennsylvania man is accused of placing a bomb under his former supervisor’s car after he was fired from his job, according to the New Jersey District Attorney.
In the early morning hours of July 26, 2025, Michael Patrick Takacs Jr., 43, was caught on camera driving up to the home of his former supervisor in a dark-colored Jeep Renegade, officials said.
Takacs was then seen getting out of his Jeep with a black object and walking over to the victim’s Ford Explorer before quickly walking away empty handed and driving off, investigators said.
Moments later, the Jeep can then be seen driving very fast passed the Ford in the seconds leading up to an explosion, according to officials.
Investigators explained that they think Takacs used a remote to detonate the explosive device that he left near the Ford.
During the investigation, officials discovered that Takacs was fired from his job in May of 2025 where the victim worked as his supervisor.
It was found that Takacs bought detonators that matched the one used in this case and he had taken a screenshot of a map online that showed where the victim lived, investigators reported.
Takacs was charged with unlawfully transporting explosive materials along with other related charges and has been detained.
