ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell claimed the 2024 Class 5A football crown, but it will look a lot different during its title defense. The team graduated 32 seniors, but once again comes into the season with 32 more.
This year, the Coyotes will be led by Luke Lynn, head coach Jeff Lynn’s son, at quarterback. He will have some help as four of the offensive linemen are returners.
“I think I can direct the offense pretty well and recognize defenses,” said Luke. “I think we will be pretty balanced. I think we can throw the ball really well and also run the ball very well, like we have in the past.”
“When you go out and you work to win a state championship and you go out to win every game, It has a lot to do with pride,” said linebacker Joaquín Bolaños. “You put on the jersey and it’s go time.”
Roswell opens the season at home against Los Lunas on Friday, August 22.
