A shooting suspect was arrested after a man was shot to death during a fight at a store on Grand Avenue in Bacliff, Galveston County deputies say.
BACLIFF, Texas (KTRK) — A suspect was charged in connection with a man’s shooting death during a fight in Galveston County on Wednesday, according to deputies.
On Thursday, 35-year-old Andrew Payne was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting arrest.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said the deadly shooting happened at about 1:30 a.m. at the Meera Food n Meat Supermarket on Grand Avenue in Bacliff.
Investigators told ABC13 that a verbal argument turned physical and ended with 56-year-old Adam Bolden being shot in the chest.
Chief Deputy Melencio Villarreal said the entire encounter happened inside the store with two other shoppers.
Deputies said the bystanders were not injured, but Bolden died from his wounds.
Payne was arrested at the scene and was charged on Thursday.
