Miami Police are investigating a disturbing series of voyeurism incidents in Liberty City, where a man has repeatedly been caught on camera looking through women’s windows while masturbating.
The most recent incident happened early Wednesday around 1:57 a.m. Surveillance video shows the man standing outside a home, visibly pleasuring himself while peering into a bedroom window.
Though he attempts to cover his face with a shirt, he’s caught on camera — clearly enough for both investigators and the public to get a good look at him.
“It’s ridiculous what we have to live with and go through,” said Eunicka Johenkins, a concerned mother whose 21-year-old daughter has been targeted multiple times. “We’re just tired of it.”
Johenkins said the repeated encounters have taken a serious emotional toll on her daughter, who now avoids wearing feminine clothes and dresses in baggier, boyish clothing out of fear.
“She’s not used to a man watching her body like that,” Johenkins said. “Now, she won’t even wear girly clothes. That’s not normal.”
This isn’t the first incident. Video from June shows a man jumping a fence near the same home, again suspected of peeping through a window.
Johenkins has since installed blackout curtains in an effort to keep her daughter safe, but she worries the man may be targeting others in the neighborhood — or worse.
“If he’s doing it to my child, he could be doing it to someone else,” she said. “It could be a niece, a cousin, a sister — watching them in their most vulnerable state. That sucks.”
