BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — For many, the Buffalo Bills are a source of hope, inspiration and support through some of life’s toughest battles, and in Buffalo, the Bills Mafia says a true embodiment of those things wears the number 17.
Ten-year-old Bella and 12-year-old Blake are Oishei Children’s Hospital Champion Kids whose lives have been changed by Josh Allen, especially when they were able to design his cleats last season.
“It was definitely a dream come true because I’ve always wanted to do something for Josh,” Blake said. “Josh Allen means a lot to me, he’s a very kind, genuine guy, and he makes the kids at Oishei feel very good about themselves.”
It was more than their artwork that was showcased on the field. Their stories became a part of the Bills’ legacy.
Both Bella and Blake are ready for another season of cheering on those who have been their biggest cheerleaders, even reuniting with quarterback Josh Allen at training camp recently.
“He’s always there for me, I just love him,” Bella said.
From uplifting the community to leading a team with Super Bowl dreams, Allen and the Bills hit the big screen on Tuesday night for the premiere of the HBO Max ‘Hard Knocks’ documentary ahead of their final season at Highmark Stadium.
“I will say, the players love it as much as the fans do, they all talk about Bills Mafia,” said Kaley Campen, the assistant director of the documentary.
The Bills continue to give Buffalo something to believe in, one person, moment and game at a time.
