NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — Drownings and water-related deaths have been making headlines in Connecticut, and with lots of people headed to the beach/pool in the heat, one local school is looking to teach about water safety.
Stewie the Duck Swim School is owned by grocery store owner Stew Leonard, Jr. and his wife. The two started the school after their 21-month-old son died in a 1989 drowning incident.
Kids of all ages, regardless of if they can pay for lessons or not, attend the swim school in Norwalk, hoping to teach kids to swim and teach adults about water safety.
