Naomi cashes in her Money in the Bank briefcase at WWE Evolution. Toni Storm remains on top following AEW All In. Jacy Jayne and Masha Slamovich to meet in a Winner Takes All. Journey Burke chats with WrestleZone and more!
Naomi Cashes In Big at WWE Evolution
The Money in the Bank reign of Naomi is no more as she begins one with the WWE Women’s World Championship instead.
In the main event of WWE Evolution, IYO SKY defended the WWE Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley, with action going back and forth. At one point, Ripley appeared on the verge of victory with a Riptide. Unfortunately for her, the referee was still recovering from an accidental dropkick delivered by SKY just moments before. Frustrated, Ripley dragged SKY into the sea of fans and sent her crashing into the stack of nearby road cases. Ripley and SKY remained there for several more moments as SKY returned the favor with a crossbody onto the concrete floor.
Eventually, the adversaries brought the physicality back to the ring, with SKY notably landing an Over The Moonsault and a Spanish Fly. Before either of them could gain a pinfall, though, Naomi rushed down with her Money in the Bank briefcase, signaling her intention to cash it in. Thus, WWE elevated this WWE Women’s World Championship match to a triple threat.

Naomi wasted no time sending Ripley into the steel ring post, shoulder first, leaving SKY alone to take a Split Legged Moonsault for Naomi’s successful cash-in. With this win, Naomi is now in her first singles WWE title reign since 2017. Looking ahead, she also already has SKY and Ripley lined up as challengers at WWE SummerSlam.
Elsewhere at Evolution, WWE’s second all-women’s premium live event, Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez also retained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in a fatal four-way match.
Meanwhile, Becky Lynch defeated Lyra Valkyria and Bayley to retain her Women’s Intercontinental Title. Stephanie Vaquer outlasted members of the main roster, NXT, and legend Nikki Bella in a battle royal to claim a future world title shot. Jade Cargill even bested Naomi in a No Holds Barred Match. And finally, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne successfully defended her title over Jordynne Grace, thanks to an unexpected turn from Blake Monroe. In her case, the glory may not last for too long.

Jacy Jayne To Meet TNA’s Masha Slamovich In Winner Takes All Match
Following her victory over Jordynne Grace, Jacy Jayne will turn her attention to TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich. On July 20, the two titleholders will face off at TNA Slammiversary, with the winner taking home both Knockouts and NXT Women’s Championships.
Ahead of their title-for-title match, Slamovich and Jacy met in a six-woman tag match on WWE NXT. On one side stood Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx. The other saw Slamovich, Zaria, and Sol Ruca. When the latter brawled to the back with an interfering Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley, Slamovich briefly stood alone. Still, she managed to plant Jayne with a Northern Lights Bomb for a winning pinfall. Should Slamovich do that again at Slammiversary, she will become a double champion.
Elsewhere at Slammiversary, Knockouts Tag Team Champions Ash and Heather By Elegance will put their titles on the line The IInspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay). The IInspiration recently returned to TNA with the aim of recapturing the tag titles. Now, they have the chance to do just that.
Former Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard will also be in action as she takes on Indi Hartwell.

Toni Remains On Top At AEW All In
Heading into AEW All In Texas, Mercedes Moné stood undefeated in All Elite Wrestling singles competition. The same can’t be said coming out of it, however.
In defeating Jamie Hayter in the finals of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Moné earned the opportunity to challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s Championship at All In. Moné, of course, is no stranger to championship gold, as she currently holds titles for CMLL, RevPro, EWA, and AEW. Storm, though, currently carries AEW’s top prize for women.
As expected, Storm and Moné pulled out all the stops at All In, with Moné notably hitting the Three Amigos and Moné Maker. Storm even hit three Storm Zeros in a row. It wasn’t until she hit one off the top rope, however, that she finally kept Moné down for a three count to retain her AEW Women’s Championship.
Looking ahead, Storm already has her next challenger in sight, ROH Women’s Champion Athena. The “forever” champion earned this position by pinning Mina Shirakawa in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet at All In. As of now, there is no word on when and where Storm and Athena will meet for their AEW title clash.
Meanwhile, Shirakawa now reigns as the interim ROH Women’s Television Champion after emerging victorious in a four way at ROH Supercard of Honor. The ROH Women’s Television Champion Red Velvet remains sidelined with an injury, with the timetable for her return unknown.
