KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs are transporting 25,000 pounds of equipment to their training camp this week using 13 moving trucks.
The Chief’s equipment staff and movers have been loading empty trailers all week and taking the equipment up to the Missouri Western campus in St. Joseph.
They are utilizing two more trailers this year compared to last year because they are taking up more equipment.
Since their first game is in Brazil, a lot of this equipment will go from St. Joseph straight to Brazil before it comes back to Kansas City. A staff of 17, along with 50 movers, gets all the equipment to St. Joseph.
Holt McKenny, the Chief’s equipment assistant, said they take everything down to toiletry items.
“We’re taking everything and that’s kind of a loose term around here, but we’re taking everything from cleats to shoulder pads, office chairs down to toiletries and razors and shampoo and body wash so it’s literally the whole works.” McKenny said.
Training camp starts next week on Monday, but the team will report to St. Joseph on Sunday.
