ST. TAMMANAY PARISH, la. (WGNO) — The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the Cleco lineman who died while on the job on July 2.
In a post to Facebook, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Randy Smith announced the death of 38-year-old Wade Singletary.
Smith said he die while “serving our community.”
Lineman work is often done in the shadows, in storms, in darkness, in danger, and yet their impact is felt by all of us, every single day. These men and women are the reason our lives continue with a sense of normalcy after chaos. They are the quiet heroes, risking everything so the rest of us can keep moving forward.
Wade was one of those heroes. We honor his selfless service, and we grieve with those who knew and loved him.

The coroner’s office ruled the cause of death as “low-voltage electrocution” with the manner being accidental.
Cleco officials released the following statement:
It is with deep sadness that we share that we lost a member of our Cleco family – Wade Singletary, Supervisor of Distribution Construction in Slidell.
Wade’s kindness, dedication and spirit touched everyone lucky enough to work alongside him.
We are grieving together and leaning on one another as a team. Our thoughts are with Wade’s family, loved ones and all who are feeling this loss.
