AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Round Rock Express baseball club and the Nolan Ryan Foundation are collaborating to raise money and donations for those affected by the flooding in Central Texas.
Donations will be accepted throughout their six-game series with Albuquerque beginning Tuesday night at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
The club will hold a nightly 50/50 raffle, put on by the Nolan Ryan Foundation, and will have a continuous pot of money throughout the series. One winner will be drawn on Sunday and the funds raised will benefit the Texas flood relief.
There will be a donation drive at the Home Plate Game during the games Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Donations of men’s and women’s hygiene products can be made in exchange for one Round Rock Express “Be Our Guest” card, which is good for two reserved seats at a Sunday-Thursday home game of the fan’s choosing.
A list of needed products, plus details on the fundraising efforts is on Round Rock’s MiLB website.
On Friday, the Express will auction off 34 game-worn and autographed jerseys — with all funds benefiting the flood relief. Bidding will be available on the Milb auction site starting Friday at 12 p.m. and end Sunday at 5 p.m.
