Trish Stratus returned to WWE SmackDown tonight, and got herself right into the title picture with a planned match at WWE Evolution.
During Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Stratus returned to accept a challenge from Tiffany Stratton. The reigning WWE Women’s Champion had come to the ring to talk about her SummerSlam match. Although she will face off against Jade Cargill, Stratton said he wants a match at Evolution.
It was then that Stratton challenged Stratus to a match. The WWE legend accepted, coming out and exchanging some words before the match was later officially confirmed.
The fully updated card for WWE Evolution is as follows:
- NXT Women’s Championship: Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
- WWE Women’s World Championship: Iyo Sky (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
- Fatal four-way tag team match for WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez (c) vs. 3 teams TBD
- Women’s Battle Royal for WWE Women’s World Championship Match at WWE Clash in Paris
- Triple Threat for WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria
- WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus wasn’t the only surprise appearance this week, as another WWE Superstar returned to make his presence felt during the show.
