The “Indy God” just got a rude welcome to TNA’s newest problem.
Matt Cardona was riding high after his win over Eddie Edwards on the July 3 episode of TNA iMPACT, but his celebration didn’t last long. Just moments after his victory—thanks in part to some unintentional help from Brian Myers—the arena lights dimmed, and chaos followed.
The NXT renegade group DarkState made their presence known in brutal fashion, ambushing Cardona in their TNA debut. The destructive faction—made up of Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, and Osiris Griffin—stormed the ring and left the former WWE Intercontinental Champion laid out.
Cardona, known for calling himself the “Indy God”, didn’t even see it coming as the group made an instant statement at his expense.
TNA has yet to comment on DarkState’s shocking arrival or what their agenda might be, but one thing’s clear—the lines between NXT and TNA are getting more chaotic by the week.
What do you think Dark State’s true intentions are in TNA, and can Cardona bounce back from this ambush? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
