France on Thursday demanded the immediate release of two of its citizens held in Iran for more than three years, warning that a decision on whether to impose sanctions over Iran’s nuclear programme would be “conditional on resolving this issue”. The news comes a day after diplomatic and family sources said Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris had been charged with spying for Israel.
