(BCN) — A drug investigation in Benicia led police to an alleged cache of illegal firearms, including an assault weapon and high-capacity magazines, resulting in the arrest of a convicted felon this week.
The Benicia Police Department initially arrested 47-year-old Benicia resident Anthony Ricardo Perry on May 11 on suspicion of having a controlled substance with the intent to sell.
Police seized Perry’s cell phones and, through a search warrant, allegedly confirmed the intent to sell through text messages. The phones also allegedly contained photos of illegal weapons.
Officers served a search warrant at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday at Perry’s home in the 1700 block of Clos Duvall Court. Police said they found and seized several illegal guns, and multiple high-capacity magazines were located and seized.

Police arrested Perry and booked him into Solano County Jail on suspicion of several felonies, including carrying a switchblade knife on his person, criminal storage of firearm, felon in possession of firearm, and illegal possession of an assault weapon.
