At the MLW event Summer of the Beasts, an appearance by the returning Mistico was interrupted by CONTRA Unit.
After fending off the masked assailants, the lucha libre legend found himself at odds with one in particular sporting a replica Mistico mask…only to pull the mask off, revealing Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
The shock appearance at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens marked MJF’s first apperance for MLW in over five years, when he faced Mance Warner in a Loser Leaves MLW Empty Arena Match that aired in April 2020.
Friedman’s attack on Mistico comes after unmasking the luchador following their bout at AEW Grand Slam Mexico, a match MJF lost by disqualification.
