NORRISTOWN, PA—The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Drug & Alcohol announces Caitlin May, a senior at Dock Mennonite Academy, as the winner of the 2025 Overdose Prevention Education Billboard Contest.
This annual competition, held since 2017, invites high school students across Montgomery County to submit original artwork that promotes a positive message of overdose prevention, discourages substance use, and encourages healthy lifestyle choices. The initiative raises awareness among youth and the broader community about the importance of prevention and the resources available for those struggling with substance use.
This year’s contest drew 41 creative and thoughtful submissions from students across the county. A total of 350 public votes were cast to determine the winning design.
Caitlin’s powerful artwork, which includes the national 24-hour helpline number (1-800-662-HELP), began appearing on 10 digital billboards across Montgomery County starting June 2, 2025. The billboard campaign will run for four weeks, spreading awareness and hope throughout the community. As the contest winner, Caitlin also received a $200 Amazon gift card in recognition of her impactful work.
The contest was coordinated in partnership with Family Services of Montgomery County, who managed the submission and voting process.
The billboard contest is one of many efforts Montgomery County undertakes to promote substance use prevention and connect residents with critical resources.
