FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – Charges have been filed against a Farmington man accused of killing his girlfriend in May 2025.
An arrest warrant for murder (2nd degree felony) and tampering with evidence (3rd degree felony) was obtained and served on Serrono Rippingale on Thursday, who is currently incarcerated at the San Juan County Detention Center on unrelated charges, according to Farmington Police.

Rippingale allegedly killed his girlfriend, Alissa Greenfield, 23, at a home on Randolph Road in Farmington. According to court documents, the couple was arguing before Rippingale put her in a chokehold.
Two welfare checks regarding Greenfield were called in on May 3, but when officers arrived, they were unable to make contact at the home. On May 4, officers were dispatched to another welfare check and used force to enter the home; inside, they found Greenfield’s body and Serrono.
Autopsy results came back, and on June 26, the cause of death was determined to be strangulation with acute alcohol as a contributing factor. The manner of death was determined to be a homicide, according to court documents.
