LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – Hundreds of thousands of dollars in opioid use settlement funds are being used to bring new ambulances to Las Vegas, New Mexico. $600,000 was allocated from the opioid settlement by the Las Vegas City Council to the fire department in March.
They used that money to buy two brand new ambulances, which will replace Rescue 2 and 4, which have been in service for more than 20 years. The department said its team plays a critical role in the city’s response to the opioid crisis.
