(KRON) — A South Bay amusement park, California’s Great America, is set to open for its 49th season this weekend.
“Featuring more than 50 rides from thrilling roller coasters to kid-sized fun in Planet Snoopy as well as South Bay Shores waterpark … California’s Great America is the top destination for thrill-seekers and families alike,” a spokesperson for Six Flags Entertainment Corporation wrote.
The park, located at 4701 Great America Parkway Santa Clara, will open rides each weekend between April and May, according to the park’s website. South Bay Shores waterpark will not open to guests until May 24.
Tickets start at $42 online. To get unlimited access through the entire 2025 season, guests can purchase a gold pass for $99, the spokesperson said.
The future of Great America, which first opened in 1976, is uncertain. In 2022, park operator Cedar Fair announced that it sold the land for $310 million to Bay Area real estate company Prologis, but will still operate the park for up to 11 years.
