64-year-old woman dead following house fire in Cheektowaga

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 64-year-old woman is dead after a house fire broke out early Wednesday morning in Cheektowaga, according to police.

Police said a residential fire was reported around 3:20 a.m. on Yeager Drive. Fire officials arrived within five minutes and extracted resident Connie Gwinner from the house. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but Gwinner was eventually pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
