NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s been a nice “4th of July” weekend thus far, but Sunday will have more widespread showers and storms.
So if you are planning to hangout by the pool or go to the beach, keep in mind that anytime before noon on Sunday will work in your favor.
The later you go, the more likely you will be to contend with showers and storms throughout the area particularly at these times:

Starting out slowly but steadily around noon-ish, we’ll see few isolated showers and storms primarily along the coast and South Shore.

By 1 p.m., it’ll become a bit more widespread.

Around 3 p.m., Terrebonne parish will see the heaviest storms — that do not have any severe weather threat.

By 5 p.m., Terrebonne parish will quiet down and so will the rest of our viewing area.
Mississippi counties will be the ones who see some lingering showers and storms on Sunday.

In terms of Sunday temperature wise, we will reach the 90-degree mark with some spots even surpassing it.
Humidity will only be at the “humid feels” so enjoy it because it’ll be on the up and up as we continue through the new week eventually getting not far off from “oppressive.”
With temperatures and the humidity combined, we will not have a Heat Index in the triple digits which will surely be in our favor.
