(KRON) — A 19-year-old San Mateo woman is believed to be responsible for a Friday evening crash that killed a 4-year-old boy and injured a 6-year-old girl, according to the Burlingame Police Department.
BDP said officers arrived at 6:25 p.m. to investigate the crash scene in front of a restaurant in the 1200 block of Donnelly Avenue.
KRON4 confirmed the collision happened at Truffle Poke Bar. As of 10 p.m. Friday, the suspected vehicle was still inside the building.
“Upon arrival, officers confirmed that two juveniles had been struck by a vehicle on the sidewalk in front of a business,” said Burlingame police in a news release. “A 6-year-old female juvenile was transported to Stanford Hospital for treatment. A 4-year-old male juvenile sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Police said the driver remained at the location and is working with investigators.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
