Two people were dead after a gas leak is suspected of causing a house to explode Thursday afternoon in far southwest suburban Oswego, officials said.
Multiple fire departments responded around 5:05 p.m. Thursday to the explosion at a home in the 200 block of Fox Chase Drive North and battled an ensuing fire, according to Oswego fire and police officials.
Two people were found inside the home and pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Their genders, ages and identities were not given.
Nicor Gas also responded to the scene to investigate, police said.
Vehicle access to Fox Chase Drive North was closed due to the fire, police said.
Additional details were not immediately released.
